We are committed to a holistic and transformative 学生 experience where each 学生 has multiple opportunities for spiritual, 物理, 情感, vocational and character development. 西雅图 Pacific University is a comprehensive university that offers a liberal 艺术 education grounded in the Christian faith. This education is one that empowers 学生s to live in a complex, diverse world by:
- Providing multiple opportunities for intellectual and personal development.
- 开发技能 in critical and analytical thinking; problem solving; communication; and the ability to apply those skills in real-world settings.

- Growing and deepening expertise in a specific field of interest.
We offer 72 majors and 59 minors across the humanities, 艺术, 社会科学, STEM(科学, 技术, engineering and mathematics), and professions such as nursing and education. The SPU curriculum requires that all 学生s complete at least one major field of study along with their 通识教育 需求.
The 通识教育 program has two different tiers. The first tier is the 普通的课程, which provides common intellectual experiences for 学生s. The 普通的课程 consists of:
- The University Colloquium completed in the first quarter at 西雅图 Pacific.
- Two academic inquiry and writing classes completed in the first year.
- Three University Foundation courses, where 学生s study and reflect on the Christian life, Scriptures, and Christian theology.
- 两门核心课程 that examine the intersections of Christian faith with contemporary society and thought.
Through courses in the second tier of the 通识教育 program, the Exploratory Curriculum, 学生s learn to understand the world through study in the humanities, 艺术, 社会科学, 科学, and quantitative reasoning. These courses provide an opportunity to apply new-found knowledge to current issues and problems.

Because we believe that academic growth is best fostered in a relational context, many of our classes are conducted in learning environments that encourage collaborative and active learning. To further strengthen relationships, our professors also serve as academic advisors to our 学生s.
